2005 WHCoA Policy Committee Members to Participate In College of William And Mary Solutions Forum

Policy Committee Members of the 2005 White House Conference on Aging (WHCoA) Policy Committee will participate in a Solutions Forum hosted by the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia on April 14, 2005.

Policy Committee Chair Dorcas R. Hardy announced that Committee members Gail Hunt and Robert Blancato will hear innovative ideas and recommendations from seniors, baby boomers, members of aging and faith-based organizations, and the academic community. This input will assist the Policy Committee in their planning for the 2005 White House Conference on Aging, scheduled to occur later this year in Washington, DC.

The mission of the WHCoA, which is held once a decade, is to report policy recommendations to the President and Congress which are designed to help guide national aging policies for the next ten years and beyond. The 2005 WHCoA will be the first of the 21st Century. Four previous White House Conferences on Aging have been held. The 2005 WHCoA will focus on the interests of current and future seniors, including the 78 million baby boomers who will begin to turn 60 in 2006. The theme of the College of William and Mary Solutions Forum is “Intergenerational Connections.”
