William
J. Turenne
Bill Turenne retired from Eli Lilly and Company in 1995,
after 31 years with the company. During that time he organized
and directed the integration of the Company’s public
affairs and government affairs advocacy efforts in the
United States. He also served on the Management Committee
of the Lilly's North American affiliate.
In September of 1995, Bill formed, and currently is president
of, a public affairs and business consulting firm that
specializes in organizational development, particularly
in the integration of strategic business planning with
public affairs programs for healthcare client organizations,
state and federal government. Since February of 2001, he
served as a Consultant to the Secretary of Health and Human
Services advising the Secretary, his Chief of Staff and
the office of the Assistant Secretary of Health on a wide
range of issues from health programs to organizational
management.
In May of 2005, President Bush appointed Bill to serve
on the Advisory Committee for the 2005 White House Conference
on Aging.
Throughout his career Bill has served on many non-profit
boards including:
- The Public Affairs Council
- The Board of Directors of
the Multiple Sclerosis Association, Washington Chapter
- The
Board of Trustees of the Tomas Rivera Center, an institute
of policy studies affecting Hispanic Americans, affiliated
with Clermont College in California and the University
of Texas in Austin.
A native of Danvers, Massachusetts; Bill graduated from
Danvers High School and The New Preparatory School in Cambridge,
Mass. He received a BS degree in Pharmacy from the University
of Connecticut in 1962 and subsequently attended Boston
College Graduate School of Management (1967 - 1970). Honorable
Discharge - U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. Married with three
grown children.
